In questo nuovo blog analizzerò la carriera musicale dei Guster, un gruppo americano di Boston, che sicuramente sarà poco noto in terra italica, ma vi garantisco che meritano il vostro ascolto e la vostra attenzione.
Prima di imbarcarci in questra nuova avventura andiamo a dare qualche piccola informazione su questa band americana.
I fondatori del gruppo sono Adam Gardner, Ryan Miller e Brian Rosenworcel che nel 1991 danno il via a questo progetto musicale mentre frequentano la Tufts University nel Massachusetts.
Il primo album risale al 1995 e viene chiamato "Parachute", ed è un disco autoprodotto, ma è il 1999 l'anno che segna il loro ingresso nel mainstream musicale.
Veniamo alla canzone che apre l'album, si chiama "Fall in two"ed è un pezzo totalmente acustico, la cui parte ritmica è affidata ai bonghi. Il pezzo è cantato sia da Ryan Miller che da Adam Gardner, che si alternano nelle liriche.

L'angolo della curiosità:
Inizialmente il nome scelto per la band era "Gus" ma poi venne cambiato in corsa in "Guster" perché scoprirono un altro artista che aveva quel nome.
La band aveva già stampato 4000 copie dell'album "Parachute" con il nome "Gus", inutile dire che oggi queste copie hanno una quotazione molto alta sul mercato del collezionismo.
Come ultima curiosità va menzionato che il peluche usato nella copertina dell'album era un giocattolo d'infanzia del percussionista Brian Rosenworcel ed è diventato col tempo una sorta di mascotte della band.
